Thread Republic provides textiles workshops, events and socials aimed at enhancing well-being through creativity whilst also engaging the local community with the topic of sustainability. We believe in circular solutions. By celebrating the art of making, repair and repurposing we can ensure pieces stay in our lives for longer to be cherished and used frequently. 

Thread Republic was founded in 2022 by four Kirklees-based textile practitioners – Holly Carr, Julia Roebuck, Kim Searle and Nicola Thompson. We were brought together by a shared love for textiles and a desire to bring people together around the topics of enhancing sustainability in the industry and greater well-being in our local communities through shared creativity.
